On Monday, October 14, the Varsity Boys and Girls both won District in Cross Country. The Varsity Girls scored a perfect score of 15. The girls came in first place to take the championship, and runner up, Plains, scored an 80. What a huge achievement for the Roughettes! The Varsity Boys tallied 20 points, also coming in first place, and runner up, Smyer, scored a 59. It was another landslide win for the Roughnecks.
The Varsity Girls first place runner was Ashlyn Peralta with a time of 13:07, followed by Gabby Peralta in 2nd with a time of 13:33. Next, Alexa Rodriguez finished in 3rd with a time of 13:45, then Alyzah McGlasson in 4th with a time of 13:55. In 5th place was Grace Peralta with a time of 14:07. Kadence Garza came in 6th with a time of 14:32, and Jasmin Posadas followed in 7th place with a time of 14:56. Great job, girls!
The Varsity Boys first runner was Jonathon Torrez, who placed second overall, with a time of 17:57. Following in 3rd place was Brayden Sanders with a time of 18:08. Next was Tristan Cruz in 4th place with a time of 18:31. Then, Koy Torres crossed the line in 5th place with a time of 19:00. In 6th place was Elijah Peralez with a time of 19:01. Luis Ramos placed 7th with a time of 19:40, and Pablo Mendoza came in 13th with a time of 20:59. Great job to the Roughnecks and Roughettes bringing home the team trophy.
