Kaylee Woolsey is the new 5th grade reading and writing teacher for Sundown Elementary, who was actually hired last December. She graduated from Texas Tech University. Growing up in Roaring Springs, Texas, Ms. Woolsey was inspired to teach when she enrolled in a class where she was able to assist teachers. Watching their faces light up whenever they would learn something new made her realize how much she loved to help and educate kids. When asked about her favorite part of Sundown so far, she stated that she loves the small town atmosphere and the supportive community.
Currently Ms. Woolsey has two dogs: Boone, who is a lab, and Ruger, a corgi. Her hobbies consist of running, hunting, snow skiing, fishing, and being with her family. Ms. Woolsey has a boyfriend that she has dated for four years, and in her spare time she enjoys chick flicks on Netflix. Ms. Woolsey is also fond of coffee and breakfast food.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10. That is Ms. Woolsey’s favorite verse because it encourages her to walk through the hard days, helps her know that she is not alone, and God will always be there to give her strength.
Welcome to Sundown Ms. Woolsey! Have a great year in 5th grade!
