The girls on the state cross country trip may not have been in school today, but it doesn't mean they didn't get educated, or put in some work. Took them on a tour of the state capital where they got to visit the Senate and House Chambers as well as visit the different memorials in the garden area. Kaytlin and Addi got in a 2 mile run, and then some team building and critical thinking skills were used to dominate an escape room! The evening finished off with a solid meal at Pappasito's.

Each Middle School Activity class at Sundown Middle School created a 90's themed public service announcement to showcase during the Middle School Activity Period on Thursday, November 2nd! We were so excited to showcase what they created! This video showcases all the videos that were submitted! We had 14 total presentations, and all of our classes did a great job! We asked each class to come up with a Public Service Announcement similar to those that were shown in the 1990's! Staff and students worked on this for 3 days during Red Ribbon Week, and came up with absolute masterpieces! The message is clear... "Don't Do Drugs!" We announced the winners from each grade level, but are proud of all of our staff and students for their efforts and creativity in making the video come to life! A huge thanks to Mrs. Toni Garcia for coming up with the idea for all classes to create these gems! Winners have earned a pizza party to be held during their Activity period next week!
The Sundown Elementary poinsettia orders are due tomorrow, November 3. All monies raised go back to our Music/Art classroom and school wide musical programs. Thank you so much for your support!

The Sundown Band has finished their state contest and now it’s time for Cross Country to begin theirs. The Pride of the Oil Patch and members of the Sundown community put together a send off for Kaytlin Clausen to wish her luck in Austin at the state meet. This took place in the parking lot of the Alamo Quarry! Good luck Kaytlin!!
