Kennedi’s Kicks 4 Life
The story of the late Kennedi Diaz from Sundown High School lives on through her legacy of love! The Diaz family has been showcased in a recent segment with EverythingLubbock.com. Sammy and Debbie Diaz continue to honor the life and death of their daughter Kennedi through Kennedi’s Kick 4 Life, dedicated to purchasing shoes for students battling cancer. They have purchased their first pair and hope to continue this act of love through this newly founded act of love. (Also for the sneaker-heads, the first pair purchased were the Dark Iris Jordan 3 Retro’s… a purple pair of Jordan’s). Continuing to send out love to the Diaz family from Sundown ISD.

CALLS LIKE THIS DO NOT HAPPEN OFTEN
Last week I received the following call from one of the officials who called the Sundown/Ropes playoff game in Brownfield. I thought it was too good not to share.
“I loved the atmosphere last night! The coaches, players, fans, students…they were great! We have had several incidents in the Lubbock area this year and I am appreciative of the kind of experience I was a part of last night. Everyone was classy…this was just an outstanding atmosphere! Last night’s game was a big win for the Lubbock area! As officials, we appreciate these types of games and experiences. I have done this for many years and plan to hang it up in a couple of years, but if all the games and crowds were like last night’s, I think I could ref another 30 years!”
This speaks volumes about our players, coaches, students, and community at large! We all know how much we appreciate the Roughneck Nation. It is also encouraging to see how others perceive us!! Thank you all for your continued support of our students and staff!
