SMS Day 2: Tropical Vacation (on the coldest day of the week!). Students also created a homemade ornament for the SMS tree and got an opportunity to hang their ornament today during Activity Period. Congrats to Coach Berry and Evey Teffs for getting the Christmas Trivia question correct today!

Christmas is here at SMS! We started off the Christmas Season with Christmas Cheer with Christmas pajama day! Students were treated to a hot chocolate bar filled with of sprinkles, whipped cream, chocolate chips, peppermint sprinkles… the works!!! We had our first Christmas Trivia question and the winners were Coach Carr and Cooper Day! Students were able to submit their "believe" ticket for a chance at a prize! Thanks to all those that dressed up! Tropical Vacation day tomorrow.

Last week the pool heater went out. We are working on getting it fixed, however the pool has not been heated in awhile. I will keep you posted on when it will be back up, but there will no night swim for the time being. I apologize for any inconvenience.

This morning, these 6, 7th, and 8th graders headed to Shallowater to compete for a spot in the 1A/2A All-Region Band. Competing against hundreds of other students from schools in our region, 17 earned a spot in either the Symphonic (top) or Concert Band that will perform together in January! We are so proud of these kids for making an effort to learn the music, challenge themselves, and show up on a Saturday after a very busy week with Academic UIL Contest and sports activities!
