Kolt McDaniel's Roughneck teammates presented a special gift to him Sunday night. Kolt's love for Roughneck football is second to none. He can't get on the field but he's a very important member of the squad. We see you Kolt!

Sundown ISD: School is officially cancelled for Tuesday and Wednesday, November 4th and November 5th next week (Monday, Nov 3rd is already a school holiday). Our Band has qualified for the State Marching Contest to be held on Tuesday, November 4th. Sundown ISD has decided to cancel school for Tuesday and Wednesday, to allow for safe travel for our Band, students, and community members that will travel to San Antonio for the Band Competition. Tuesday will be a full day of competing, and the Band will return home on Wednesday. We are very proud of "The Pride of the Oil Patch", and want to allow any and all community members to make the trip to San Antonio to cheer on our Band! Monday is already a scheduled school holiday, so we are now adding Tuesday and Wednesday of next week as school holidays as well. Thank you for your continued support of Sundown ISD. REMINDER: NO school Monday - Wednesday [Nov. 3 - Nov. 5] to allow staff, students and community members to travel to San Antonio in support of our Band. We will also open up the Auditorium on Tuesday at 10:00 AM for the 11:15 AM Performance!

4 senior boys will miss senior night next Friday because they will be in Round Rock for the state cross country meet. Tonight, before the community performance and before the game in Ropes we wanted to recognize Daniel Mauldin, Sebastian Posadas, Rolando Rivera, and Jaydith Shelton. Thank you guys for all you have done for Sundown ISD!!

Careers and Cars was this morning and Kinder-2nd graders had some great presenters tell them about their careers. Thank you to Game Warden Mikayla Whitus, Chief Garza, Investigator Tillman, Officer Ortega, EMT Laura McMinn, and Delwin Britton and his Xcel crew for coming out! It was pretty special to have 2 Sundown ISD alumni and a school board member with us! What a fun morning!

Cool moment under the lights tonight!
Our Varsity Roughnecks came out to support our JV boys in their hard-fought battle against Ropes. Though the JV fell just short with a 16–20 loss, one of the best moments of the night came afterward, our Varsity players joined the JV on the field to congratulate them on their effort and then gathered together in prayer to close out the evening.
Nothing better than being a Sundown Roughneck!
