Mrs. Kayla Belew had a wild idea that we could raise enough funds to purchase school supplies for the entire Middle School, and it has come to fruition! Sundown Middle School is proud to serve the community of Sundown, and we are so grateful to Mrs. Kayla Belew, 7th Grade ELAR Teacher, for putting together a 7th Grade Blanket Fundraiser during the 23-24 school year. Students were able to raise more than $10,000. Sundown Middle School Students had the opportunity to come by the school this past week to retrieve their gift, and there were many smiles to be had! The community has shown so much gratitude for this service project. A huge thanks to Mrs. Kayal Belew and her family for helping to organize and spending hours prepping the backpacks for pick-up! Also thank you to Mrs. April Berry, and Mrs. Kari Rodgers for helping to hand out the backpacks and sharing a smile with the students that we are so excited for the upcoming school year!
* We have had a number of parents ask if there is anything we need, and we honestly would appreciate it if students brought 2 boxes of Kleenex for the upcoming year. For those that have not received their backpacks can pick them up during our Open House coming up on Thursday, August 8th.
Great MS Cheer Showcase! Thanks to Raider X for coming out to work with our Cheer Squad! Also a huge thanks to our new Cheer Sponsors, Mrs. Christine Martin and Mrs. Anastacia Lopez! We are looking forward to a great year!

2024 August FB Calendar
Sundown Middle School Students & Parents: We hope your summer is going well! This message applies to our students entering SMS for the 24-25 School Year! Dress Code Change, we are no longer allowing our young ladies to wear wind shorts to school. We had too many issues with this last year and decided to remove them. On a positive note, this is a reminder that SMS IS BUYING ALL SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!! For all of our students at SMS, we have purchased all of the school supplies for the upcoming year. Mrs. Belew and our 7th-grade class completed the blanket fundraiser and raised enough funds to buy all supplies for the school year. In addition to this, we have also purchased a backpack for everyone. If you are wanting to purchase any items yourself, including a backpack, you are free to do so. We have received most of the items at this point, and are working to organize them and have them ready for the start of school! Another big round of applause to Mrs. Belew for organizing this fundraiser for our community. More information to come.
Get your Fireworks from the Roughneck Band Fireworks stand! We will be located North of Sundown on FM 303 @ Mojave Emergy Services / Rooster's Wireline. Come out and support the Pride of the Oil Patch! See you there! July 1st - July 4th.
